- 3 A / B R II / III + (Jug Handle)
- 1 A / B I / II / III + (canyon hike)

TIME OF YEAR TO HIKE:
|
- Anytime of the year is good. Best in spring and
fall.
- Plenty of shade during most of the slot canyon hike.
- Very hot hike into and out of the canyon, up on the
escarpment and through the rappel. No shade with
full exposure to the sun.

ROUTE TIME: |
- 5 - 7 hours (full route with raps).
- Add more time for taking pictures, more than 7 in
your group, or exploring.
|
|
CLIMBING
EQUIPMENT REQUIRED (MINIMUM): |
- (2) 60m rope.
- (4) 6-10 ft. slings (for those that may
need replacing from exposure and wear).
- (3) Rappel rings or quick links.
- Drill kit (emergency only--don't put in any bolts unless is is
absolutely necessary).

OTHER EQUIPMENT: |
-
Water -- plenty for a long day. There may be some water holes
to pump water out of in an emergency, but this is situational at best, depending
on the time of year and recent precipitation.
Don't plan on any water being available along the route.
This is normally a dry canyon.

Dry bags -- always for sensitive gear, clean dry clothes,
etc.

Wet shoes (as needed for recent precipitation).

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS:

- Multi-pitch rappel.
- May need to replace old slings on
rap route.

FLASH FLOOD DANGER: |
- Moderate.
- Localized collection only.
- Do not start this canyon with severe thunderstorms in
the area.
